Everything You Need to Know About Getting Married at the Hythe Imperial Hotel

Planning your wedding should be exciting, not overwhelming. To help make the journey as smooth as possible, we’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions from our couples.

From deposits and suppliers to accommodation and menu tastings, you’ll find everything you need to know about hosting your wedding at the Hythe Imperial Hotel. If you have any additional questions, our dedicated Wedding Team will be delighted to help.

How much deposit is required to secure our wedding date?

A non-refundable deposit of £2,000 is required at the time of booking to secure your wedding date. Following this, we’ll provide a detailed payment plan tailored to your wedding. Additional payments can be made at any time should you wish to reduce your final balance before the big day.

Can we hold both our ceremony and reception at the hotel?

Absolutely. Every part of your wedding day can be hosted right here at the Hythe Imperial Hotel. From your ceremony and drinks reception to your wedding breakfast and evening celebrations, everything can take place under one roof, making your day seamless and stress-free.

How do we book our registrar?

We will make the initial booking with the registrar on your behalf. You will then receive an information pack directly from the registrar, along with details of any booking fees. Any further arrangements, final payments and legal requirements will be organised directly between yourselves and the registrar.

When can we set up for our wedding?

We understand how exciting it is to start bringing your wedding vision to life. However, access to your wedding venue is only available from the time stated within your contract.

When can we bring in our decorations and personal items?

We ask that decorations and personal items are delivered to the hotel the day before your wedding, subject to agreement with your Wedding Coordinator. Depending on the volume of items and setup requirements, an additional charge may apply.

Can we use candles as part of our wedding décor?

Yes, candles are permitted. Any candle holder must be at least 3cm higher than the flame, and the base must be sturdy enough to prevent tipping. Many of our recommended florists also offer realistic flameless LED candles as a stylish and safe alternative.

Can we use confetti or petals?

Unfortunately, confetti and petals are not permitted anywhere within the hotel or on the hotel grounds.

Can we use our own suppliers?

Yes. While we work with a fantastic selection of recommended suppliers, you’re welcome to use your own. We will require copies of Public Liability Insurance and PAT testing certificates for any band or DJ. Access times for suppliers must be arranged in advance with your Wedding Coordinator.

Please note that the hotel cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to items brought onto the premises by external suppliers.

Can suppliers access the venue before the wedding?

Yes. Your suppliers can access the venue at a time agreed in advance with your Wedding Coordinator to ensure everything is ready for your wedding day.

Can we have fireworks?

Fireworks are not permitted on hotel grounds. However, if arranged directly with a professional fireworks company, displays may be held on the beach nearby.

If you plan to do this, please inform your Wedding Coordinator so we can notify hotel guests. A Risk Assessment from your chosen supplier will be required, and we recommend arranging additional insurance. Sparklers and fireworks are not permitted anywhere on hotel property.

Are dogs allowed at our wedding?

Service dogs are welcome throughout the hotel.

We also welcome pets to attend your ceremony and wedding breakfast, provided they are kept under control at all times. Pets must leave after the wedding breakfast and are not permitted to stay overnight in guest bedrooms.

Can children attend our wedding?

Of course. We welcome guests of all ages to celebrate your special day with you.

We also work with a range of recommended suppliers who can provide entertainment and activities for younger guests throughout the day, allowing parents to relax and enjoy the celebrations.

Do you have accommodation available for wedding guests?

Yes. As a 92-bedroom hotel, we can accommodate many of your wedding guests onsite.

Some of our wedding packages include complimentary or discounted bedrooms, making it even easier for your loved ones to stay and enjoy the celebrations. Speak to your Wedding Coordinator for more information about accommodation options.

Do you offer discounted bedroom rates for wedding guests?

Selected wedding packages include discounted or complimentary accommodation. Our Wedding Team will be happy to discuss the options available for your chosen package and wedding date.

Is there parking available for guests?

Yes. We offer complimentary onsite parking, with enough spaces to accommodate your wedding guests throughout the day and evening.

Is the hotel accessible?

Yes. The hotel has three lifts, including direct access to the Ballroom via the seafront entrance. We also offer accessible parking spaces, accessible bedrooms and accessible toilet facilities.

Do you offer menu tastings?

Yes. Complimentary menu tastings are included within most of our wedding packages and will be arranged by your Wedding Coordinator well in advance of your wedding day.

  • Guests may sample up to two menu choices

Small & Intimate Wedding Package

  • Complimentary menu and wine tasting for the happy couple
  • Additional guests can attend for £45 per person
  • Complimentary glass of fizz for the happy couple

Is there a corkage fee?

No wines, spirits, food or beverages may be brought into the hotel or grounds by you or your guests.

Should outside alcohol be consumed on the premises, a charge may be applied. Please speak with your Wedding Coordinator for further details.
