Newly opened this May at the Hythe Imperial Hotel, The Snug is our cosy new adults-only lounge offering brand-new afternoon tea experiences, including a boozy bottomless upgrade!

Hidden away within our beautiful Kent coastal hotel, it’s already fast becoming a favourite here in Hythe and the neighbouring town of Folkestone.

This isn’t traditional afternoon tea as you know it. The Snug offers a completely different atmosphere – blending elegant interiors, soft lighting and a laid-back feel with carefully curated food and drink experiences.

Think handcrafted triangle sandwiches and tempting cakes, artisan teas and cocktails in a cosy and intimate setting – and just the right amount of luxury without things feeling too formal.

A new way to enjoy afternoon tea in Kent

Afternoon tea is one of Britain’s little pleasures. But The Snug gives it a fresh, contemporary twist…

This new space has been created for guests who love all the indulgence of afternoon tea, but prefer a more relaxed, sociable and unhurried setting.

Guests can enjoy our relaxed afternoon tea experiences, with two different options to choose from.

The Snug is also over 18s only, giving it a more grown-up feel that makes it ideal for relaxed celebrations, leisurely afternoons and some “me time” away from it all.

Our afternoon teas are handmade by the chefs from our AA-rosette winning Coast restaurant, and include a choice of delicious savoury and sweet options.

We can also cater for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets – simply tell us in advance when booking.

We’re also super dog friendly, so feel free to bring along your well-behaved pooches too!

Summer treats at The Snug

Now’s the best time to come and discover The Snug – thanks to our introductory summer offers!

To help celebrate the summer, throughout June, July and August you can enjoy our Lazy Afternoon Tea for the same price as the Classic Afternoon Tea.

That means this new Kent afternoon tea experience is available for just £28 per person from Monday to Thursday, and £31 per person over the weekends from Friday to Sunday.

A lovely excuse, we think, to slow down a little, relax, and make an afternoon of it!

For something with more fizz and fun, our Bottomless Afternoon Tea is also available – with 10% off the standard price this summer.

This upgraded Afternoon Tea experience is just £57 per person from Monday to Thursday, and £60 per person from Friday to Sunday. It includes 90 minutes of selected bottomless drinks alongside your afternoon tea. Perfect for birthdays, catch-ups, special celebrations or simply because summertime by the sea deserves a toast!

Both our afternoon tea experiences are served daily at 12noon, 2pm and 4pm, with tables available for up to 90 minutes.

But it’s called The Snug for a reason! And this intimate space has limited seating, so we do advise you to book early!

Available throughout June, July, August and September, our You & Me Time package is designed for couples who want to unwind and enjoy a relaxed Kent coastal escape together.

From £130 per person, it includes an overnight stay in one of our beautiful Standard Double or Twin Rooms, a freshly-prepared breakfast, three-course dining experience in the Coast restaurant, plus a bottle of sparkling wine in your room.
