Visit the fantastic Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway! Nearly 100 years old it has been an integral part of the landscape of the Romney Marsh. Known as “Kent’s Mainline in Miniature”, the world famous mini Steam & Diesel locomotives have powered their way along the 13½ miles of track from the Cinque Port town of Hythe, to Dungeness; a National Nature Reserve and one of the largest shingle landscapes in the world. With 4 stations in between, all within walking distance of the beautiful beach, our railway provides you with an opportunity to explore this unique corner of Kent. The Royal Military Canal, Hythe in Kent, is of great historical interest, built primarily as a defence during the Napoleonic Wars.
Traveling by boat is ideal for photographing the Royal Military Canal and the wildlife. la tienne will seat up to 8 passengers comfortably.
Typical canal trips are approximately 50 minutes, or bookings for a private voyage for use as a Bridal carriage, Picnic Trip, Birthday Party, Bird Watching etc. are available.
Hythe offers many beautiful and, in some cases, challenging walks, either along our three main promenades, which are approximately four and a half miles in length and give a nice view of Hythe Bay where one can watch the windsurfers and kite surfers whilst enjoying ice creams and refreshments at your leisure or, perhaps, a walk along the Hythe Military Canal with its beautiful scenery and natural wildlife, meandering through the Romney Marsh for some 28 miles ending in Winchelsea.read more...

A large rock groyne marks the boundary between Princes Parade, Seabrook, and Marine Parade, Hythe. It is at the end of Twiss Road, opposite the Imperial Hotel, and is known as Twiss Groyne.
A favoured draw on this popular competition venue is the high side of the groyne on the western side (facing the sea). A steep and fairly deep beach, it produces fish all year.
