We are proud to have welcomed countless LGBT couples to celebrate their big day with us here at the Hythe Imperial Hotel and we thought it would be helpful to share our experience from a venue perspective.

We are often asked… we’re a same sex couple. Do you mind? Mind? Absolutely not! As far as we’re concerned, if a couple is in love and want to recognise their commitment to each other, what better way to do it, here in our wonderful venue, surrounded by friends and family.

We are delighted to feature incredible photography of some of our same sex couples on our website and our social media feeds, and we also have a range of packages to suit and can adapt and build upon these to create the wedding of your dreams! It is really important that ALL our couples feel that they are celebrated – and showing off our recent weddings is a great way to do this.

Of course, an LGBT wedding can be as fraught as any other! What are the logistics for the day? What family politics do we need to be aware of?  As wedding planners, we are highly experienced in navigating our way to the big day itself and are known for our discretion, empathy and good cheer! We want all our couples to reach their wedding in one piece and will do everything we can to ensure that planning your day is as stress-free as possible.

We love the big reveal of a wedding – any wedding! The dress, the outfits, the choice of first dance. From matching suits and billowing dresses, towers of cupcakes and stunning table displays, the creativity that our couples display is something we get very excited about, and we’re pleased to work with a number of suppliers that can help make the most extravagant of plans a reality!

We know that as soon as a couple is engaged, thoughts turn to the wedding itself – and the venue is a huge part of the this.  We always recommend visiting as many venues as possible; don’t just look at the décor and the setting. Talk to the wedding and event staff and get a feel for their approach; perhaps ask for a testimonial from recent weddings – and make sure you feel at home at the venue and with the team who will be looking after you.

We see our couples as friends and, more often than not, by the time the wedding comes around, we feel more like family! It is therefore so important to ensure that you have a wedding planning team that fully understands what you want from your day, your celebration and your venue –it is your day after all!
