If you need any help deciding whether to take the time to attend a wedding fair, here are our top 10 reasons below:

Number One – it’s a fun day out! A wedding fair at our beautiful wedding venue on the Kent coast is a fantastic opportunity to spend a day together with the friends and family members who are most excited by your forthcoming nuptials! Why not treat those most involved in the planning of your wedding to lunch or a cream tea to really make a day of it?

Number Two – you will be inspired! Why not take a digital break and enjoy some real-life inspiration? Yes, Insta and Pinterest offer some great ideas, but there is nothing like the buzz and hype of a wedding fair to bring these ideas to life. Talk to others attending, speak to as many suppliers as possible – from stationers to saxophonists – and witness this beautiful venue doing what it does best – hosting brilliant events, like your wedding! Take as many pictures and notes as you can so that you can refer to them as you plan your big day.

Number Three – it is hard to keep up with the ever-changing trends in weddings! Wedding fairs and exhibitions enable you to get up to speed with the latest trends in the wedding industry. Those working in wedding and events know all about what’s hot and what’s not – and can give you insights as to the next big thing!

Number Four – you will be able to confirm what you don’t want. Whittling down your initial ideas can be tricky. Sometimes just seeing some things in real life can help you decide that it is not quite for you – so still a useful part of the planning process. Wedding fairs cater for all tastes and styles so take the time to really take it all in.

Number Five – it’s all about the dress!  Wedding fair fashion shows offer a great opportunity to view a LOT of wedding dresses under one roof, as well as the shoes and accessories, which are so critical to your final bridal look. Remember to wear the right underwear when you attend the fair if you are hoping to try on outfits and take lots of pictures in all different styles.

Number Six – meet your potential suppliers in person! A wedding fair is the best time to discuss your preferences with potential suppliers and view their showcase material. Suppliers will often bring a large selection of their offerings with them for couples to view. Talk to different suppliers – are they confident, easy to talk to and – most importantly – do they listen to YOU? Some you will connect with and some you won’t – it’s all just part of the process! If you’re not sure exactly what you want, ask the suppliers what other couples are requesting – this is another good way of getting more inspiration!

Number Seven – who doesn’t love a freebie?

Yes, that’s right – at many events there will be FREE samples on offer! Many wedding suppliers offer tasters and samples of their products, especially cake makers! Do get there early to bag the best freebies!

Number Eight – special offers

For any wedding supplier, attending a fair has to be a worthwhile marketing exercise so many exhibitors will prepare a special offer for the show; this may be a reduced price on their services, or something extra with a booking. It doesn’t mean that you need to decide right there at the show whether to go with them as you’ll probably want to discuss any bookings with your other-half-to-be, especially if you have a tight budget. So, instead, get all their details, make sure the supplier has your name, and ask for the expiry dates on any special offers that catch your eye!

Number Nine – cake, cake, cake!

It’s all part of the fun – but tasting the cake is a very important piece of the wedding puzzle. Cake science has come a very long way since the days of sponge and fruit being the only options for your wedding cake! At a wedding fair, you might well fall in love with flavours you didn’t even know existed that could make your wedding cake really stand out.

Number Ten – the venue itself

And last but not least – attending a wedding event at the venue of your choice is a great way to experience how they handle a large crowd of people. It also presents the opportunity to meet the event team that could be arranging your big day.

We hope to see you very soon at one of our fabulous Hythe Imperial Hotel wedding events! Get ahead of the wedding to do list and book your venue visit today.
