Planning application for a new Leisure and Spa Facility at the Hythe Imperial Hotel

The GSE Group have submitted planning application for a new Leisure and Spa Facility at the Hythe Imperial Hotel.

The Hythe Imperial Hotel already boasts popular spa, gym and leisure facilities, all of which can be enjoyed, not only by hotel guests and members but also, by non- members who can purchase a day pass from the spa reception.

Design proposals for the scheme are being developed by Guy Hollaway Architects who have designed a number of award-winning buildings and hotels in Kent. Their designs will ensure that the new Leisure and Spa building complements the existing grandeur of the Hythe Imperial, with improved access for all and enhanced landscaping.

This new facility will include 10 additional bedrooms and a new bridal dressing room – perfect for those looking to choose the Hythe Imperial as their wedding venue.

For the fitness enthusiasts, the project will also create new spin and aerobics studios, a separate gym changing room, a 40-machine gymnasium complete with stunning views over the English Channel and an outdoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, which will be serviced by an independent changing room facility.

Guests will also be able to indulge in some much-needed relaxation time with the new manicure and pedicure room, a relaxation room and seven spa treatment rooms including two double treatment rooms with en-suite facilities.

This will all be topped off with the opportunity to socialize and relax in the all new leisure club members private lounge with access to the serene Japanese gardens.

Darrell Healey, GSE Chairman, said “The new Leisure and Spa Facility will be a welcomed addition to the existing amenities available at the Hythe Imperial Hotel. We wanted to add to the experiences that are popular with our guests to make their journey with us unforgettable.”

Nick Gauntlett, Executive Director of the Hythe Imperial Hotel, said “The Hythe Imperial hotel has recently undergone a facelift with our multi-million-pound refurbishment, both internally and externally including the bedrooms and hotel amenities.

“We have also welcomed Kent’s only Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar, and so I think it is only fitting that we look to enhance the experience of the Spa and leisure facilities for our club members, hotel guests and visitors.

“We are very excited and very much looking forward to the new addition, which will not only highlight Hythe on the map of Kent and England, but will also be in keeping with our vision for the Hythe Imperial Hotel to become a resort where everyone is welcome to be pampered and relax.”
